Blogging Begins...

To start off I guess I better start at the beginning. Alex and I had been trying for about 8 months to get pregnant without any success. Since most of you know he is gone on average about 290 days a year this makes it a little difficult. After going to my OBGYN he suggested taking a visit to the Houston Fertility Institute Houston Fertility Docs ( would highly recomend them). After going through about of a month of testing and going under for a hysteroscopy (for the first time)(boy was I a wreck!)  Hysteroscopy is where they put a scope into your uterus to make sure everything looks good and you don't have any fibroids so on and so forth... Bottom line is after all the testing we had great news everything was fully functioning and we were facing a bigger battle TIMING!

After finding we had a clean bill of health we decided we were ready to take the next step. We were sick of waiting so the day of our Consultation with our great Doc (Dr. Griffith) we took home our first dose of folistrim. The next 12 days were as follows.. Every evening I would give myself a shot in the tummy ...3 time a week I was monitored by ultra sound  and blood test to see how my eggs were growing. This went on for 10 days ... On the 11th day I was ready for my IUI  with 2 mature follicles (eggs). After about 61 million of Alex's little guys put in to the top of my uterus the hard part was over .. or lol just beginning.

The next 14 days were I can honestly say the worst or most annoying of my life! WAITING SUXS! I took 4 pregnancy test and the first one came out positive and then the rest were negative. On Wednesday Nov. 23rd I went in for my blood test... and the rest is history..
